Worcestershire CCC player Alex Hinkley played an important role in ensuring the Midlands finished runners-up in the ESCA Under-15s Bunbury Cricket Festival 50 over competition at Stowe School.
Hinkley scored 38 as the Midlands defeated the North by six wickets to finish with two wins from their three matches.
The North were bowled out for 121 in 36.5 overs and the Midlands reached 122-4 from 32.2 overs.
The London and South East ended up winning the 50 over competition.
In the T20 competition, the Midlands lost the third and fourth placed match with the North despite an encouraging performance from another Worcestershire CCC player.
Pete Clark returned 3-17 off his four overs as the North, who were put into bat, closed on 134-8.
A third Worcestershire player in Dan Holland (18) then added 72 for the first wicket in 10 overs with G. Miller (47).
But the Midlands then lost momentum and were restricted to 123-8 in their 20 overs.
Holland and Hinkley are part of Worcestershire CCC's Under-15 age group programme and EDP programme.
Clark and Lewis Evans are part of the County's satellite Shropshire academy which is run by former County paceman Paul Pridgeon.
