Henry Returns As County Elect To Bowl First At Derby

Henry Returns As County Elect To Bowl First At Derby

Worcestershire paceman Matt Henry returned to Specsavers County Championship action for the away clash with Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground.

The New Zealander was rested for the previous Championship clash against Gloucestershire at New Road three weeks ago.

But he returned in place of Charlie Morris in the only change from the side which suffered a five wicket defeat in that fixture.

Henry has taken 19 wickets in his four appearances in the competition.

He has now recovered from the side strain suffered in the NatWest T20 Blast match away to Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

Tom Fell had been part of the squad but has joined up with the Second Eleven for their Championship match at Scarborough which gets underway today.

Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell opted to bowl first – as is the option available to all away teams this summer – and there was no toss.

Play was able to get underway after the first day was washed out yesterday.
