Worcestershire Seconds went down by 138 runs to Lancashire Seconds on the final day of the Championship match at Southport today.
Nick Hammond hit 67 off 70 balls with 11 fours but Worcestershire were bowled out for 202 on the stroke of lunch.
One-time England spinner Simon Kerrigan did the damage with 6-49 in 15.2 overs.
Worcestershire resumed on 56-3 and Alexei Kervezee and nightwatchman Josh Tongue started the day in a positive manner scoring six boundaries in the first four overs.
But were both dismissed within two overs of each other with Kervezee just nine short of his half century.
The run out of Kervezee was followed by the mid-wicket catch of Tongue to leave Worcestershire on 93-5.
Josh Dell and Hammond put on 80 in the next 16 overs for an evenly matched sixth wicket partnership with both of them scoring 39 runs out of the 80.
With the score on 173 and things looking nicely settled, Dell was caught in the deep by Danny Lamb which started a procession of wickets.
Three more fell in the next four overs to Kerrigan and place Worcestershire on 187-9.
At this point Hammond had just got his half century and pushed his total to 67 before being caught at long off by Danny Lamb off Kerrigan to end the innings.
*The two teams will meet again tomorrow in a Second Eleven Trophy match at Emirates Old Trafford.
