Alex Gidman believes teams having a greater strength in depth is the biggest difference between Division One and Division Two of the LV = County Championship.
Worcestershire's new signing experienced promotion with Gloucestershire and they stayed in the top flight for two seasons.
Now the 33-year-old is looking to establish his new county in Division One after signing a two year contract for the 2015 and 2016 campaigns.
Gidman said: "This is meant with complete respect to everyone but they (in Division One) are the same as us.
"They are cricketers. It is not as if you are suddenly facing guys who bowl at 100 miles an hour and score 500 every innings.
"They are human beings and I just think you've got more depth in the teams.
"That is going to be the challenge for us, coming from the Second Division where you've probably got two really good seamers and one okay back-up bowler and then not a lot after that.
"We are going to a division where there is five out and out first class bowlers.
"On the flipside of that, in Division Two there are three or four good batsmen in each team which you've got to be aware of whereas in the First Division it's going to be five, six, seven.
"That's the battle. They are not necessarily amazingly better cricketers. I think it's the fact there are more of them."
