Shannon Gabriel is set to make his Worcestershire debut in the LV = County Championship clash with Durham at the ICG Emirates starting tomorrow (Monday).
The West Indies paceman is included in a 12 strong squad for the Division One encounter.
Gabriel was clocked bowling at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour in the Test series against Australia in June.
The 27-year-old replaces spinner Saeed Ajmal in the squad in the only change to the 12 players chosen ahead of the home clash with Sussex.
Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said: "He has had a few days before his first game to acclimatise and get over the jet lag.
"He is a big strong lad and we know he can bowl with some pace and we hope he will give a nice balance in our attack."
Worcestershire will be returning to action after a 10 day break since the game against Sussex ended on Friday week.
They will be look for a return to form after Rhodes admitted Worcestershire had been outplayed in all departments in that match.
The County have their sights on two sizeable points returns from their final two games to bolster their chances of remaining in the top flight for a second successive season.
