Worcestershire Seconds suffered an injury-hit second day against Glamorgan Seconds at RGS Worcester and ended up using 16 different fielders.
George Rhodes, Adam Finch and Xavie Clarke all sustained various ailments on a day where they bowled out Glamorgan for 297 and then reached 53-3 in their second innings – a deficit of 14.
Rhodes dislocated his finger when fielding in the slips in the fourth over of the day. He went to hospital and was eventually replaced for the remainder of the game by Zain Ul-Hassan who was withdrawn from the Academy game with Northamptonshire.
Finch tried to bowl the 11th over of the morning – his second of the game – but the England Under-19 player suffered pain in his back after sending down two deliveries and took no further part.
Clarke picked up an ankle injury although he did manage to spend some time out on the field during the Glamorgan innings.
Glamorgan had resumed on 59-1 and Steve Magoffin picked up four wickets and skipper Ollie Westbury three in restricting the Welsh side’s lead to 67.
Triallist keeper Tom Keast claimed four catches including top scorer Taylor for 67.
Morgan (48) was the other main contributor and he was caught at first slip by Clarke.
Magoffin finished with 4-43 from 18.1 overs and Westbury 3-71 from 19 overs.
When Worcestershire went in again, theyt lost three quick wickets with Westbury (11) lbw, Josh Dell bowled and Nick Hammond (1) caught at first slip.
But Jack Haynes remained unbeaten on 28 when the players went off for bad light with six overs remaining.
