the d’oliveira foundation wil hold their 2018 gala dinner on september 14 in the chestnut marquee at New Road – and it will look back at the 50th anniversary of one of the most infamous events in the family’s proud history.
it was in august and september 1968 that the ‘d’oliveira affair’ took place and changed the cricketing and political landscape forever with south africa ultimately banned from international sport for two decades.
the guest speaker at the gala dinner will be peter oborne author of ‘basil d’oliveira cricket and controversy.’
in addition there will be recorded speeches from lord peter hain and mike brearley obe and it promises to be an emotional and compelling lookback.

the d’oliveira foundation, was set up to honour the memory of worcestershire cricketers in father and son basil and damian d’oliveira.
