Former Worcestershire Secretary-CEO Mike Vockins has stood down as chairman of the Worcestershire Cricket Society.
Vockins has also relinquished his role as MC-interviewer at the monthly meetings of the Cricket Society.
But he is to continue in his role as the Society’s current President.
Committee member and former treasurer Richard Shaw has taken over as chairman on an interim basis.
Vockins, who recently moved from Worcestershire to live in Somerset, originally organised and conducted the monthly meetings during his three decade reign as the County’s Secretary-CEO.
He returned to the role with the Society in recent years after former Society Chairman Bill Tansell was unable to continue because of illness.
A Society spokesman said: “The Society committee would like to place on record its enormous gratitude and thanks to Mike for his massive contribution over many, many years.
“In addition to his MC role with the Cricket Society, Mike has played a major part in organising many of our guest speakers thanks to huge array of contacts in the game in which he is widely respected.”
