🇿🇦 Pat Brown – St. Augustine CC, South Africa
Pat Brown produced a five-wicket haul for St. Augustine but ended on the losing side in their Western Province ‘B’ Division encounter with United CC.
The pace bowler had figures of 5-17 in a devastating opening seven-over spell after United had been put into bat.
He struck in his second, third and fourth overs and twice in his fifth after taking the new ball.
Brown ended with figures of 9-1-23-5 as United were dismissed for 116 in 39.2 overs.
But then St. Augustine collapsed to 49 all out in 15.3 overs, with Brown batting at number five, out for a single.
🇿🇦Gareth Roderick – Green Point, South Africa
Gareth Roderick was run out for 17 as his side, Green Point, went down by 72 runs to Claremont CC in a Western Province Premier Division fixture.
Captain Roderick put Claremont into bat, and they totalled 240-8 in their 50 overs.
He went to the wicket at 44-2 and lifted the total to 97-3 but then was run out, and Green Point were bowled out for 168 in 38 overs.
🇦🇺Dillon Pennington & Taylor Cornall – Adelaide CC, Australia
Dillon Pennington struck a half-century, but Adelaide went down by an innings and 30 runs to Woodville in the South Australia Cricket Association first grade after losing 19 wickets on the second and final day.
Adelaide resumed on 6-1 in their first innings in reply to Woodville’s 333-5 declared, and Taylor Cornall battled away in making 19 off 65 balls – the most faced by anyone in the innings – with three boundaries.
But wickets fell regularly at the other end, and Adelaide were bowled out for 86 in 36.3 overs.
They followed on, and Cornall’s second knock of the day brought him 31 from 62 deliveries with four fours.
Adelaide were 134-8, but Pennington provided some respectability in making 54 off 79 balls with seven boundaries.
He top-scored and added 83 for the ninth wicket with Joshua Barnes before Adelaide were dismissed for 217 in 60.3 overs.
🇦🇺 Adam Finch – Sturt CC, Australia
Adam Finch suffered a similar experience to Pennington and Cornall despite taking three wickets as Sturt lost by an innings and 127 runs to East Torrens in another SACA first grade match.
East Torrens extended their overnight 267-4 to 335 all out in 97.3 overs, with Finch adding one more scalp in Michael Cranmer for 61.
He bowled six overs on day two for 15 runs to end with 20-5-55-3.
Sturt then collapsed to 65 all out in 27.1 overs, Finch scoring one, and following on were bowled out for 143 in 54.1 overs with Finch making 11.
Ben Gibbon – Willetton CC, Australia
Ben Gibbon made two breakthroughs with the ball and was then employed as a nightwatchman by Willetton on day one of the Western Australia Cricket Association first grade meeting with Bayswater-Morley.
The left armer claimed the first wicket with 28 on the board and returned to add another with both caught behind.
Bayswater-Morley were 110-6 at one stage but recovered to reach 232 all out in 78.5 overs.
Gibbon has figures of 17-6-46-2 and then safely negotiated 12 deliveries to finish nought not out batting at number four as Willetton closed on 9-2.
The match will be concluded next weekend.
🇦🇺 Henry Cullen – Plenty Valley CC, Australia
Henry Cullen was dismissed for four in Plenty Valley’s second innings of the drawn Victoria Cricket Association fixture against Brighton
The wicket-keeper batter had cracked the previous ball to the boundary but was second out with the total on 52 as Plenty Valley closed the game on 77-3.
Brighton obtained first innings points in reaching 199-6 declared in reply to Plenty Valley’s 134 all out on day one.
