Worcestershire and Warwickshire will be meeting in the Vitality County Championship for the first time in three years in tomorrow’s Division One encounter at Edgbaston.
The sides locked horns twice in 2021 in Group One of the competition which was reorganised into three sections of six teams in the first full season after the pandemic.
There was an early season clash at Edgbaston which was rain-affected and ended in a draw.
Worcestershire earned a first innings advantage of 21 in reaching 364-8 declared with the aid of 74 from Jake Libby.
But the third day was washed out and Warwickshire reached 70-3 in their second innings, with two wickets falling to Alzarri Joseph.
The encounter at New Road in July also ended with honours even.
Ish Sodhi’s 6-89 on his Championship debut for Worcestershire was largely responsible for Warwickshire being bowled out for 395.
Daryl Mitchell’s century, in his final year with Worcestershire, helped his side reached 447-9 in reply.
Warwickshire then totalled 215-2 in their second innings before the two teams shook hands.
Libby, Brett D’Oliveira, Joe Leach, Adam Finch and Josh Baker are the Worcestershire players from that fixture who are still part of the current squad.
