Adam Finch produced a disciplined bowling display on day two of the second ‘Test’ for England Young Lions who had to work hard for wickets against Bangladesh Under-19s in Chittagong.
The Worcestershire paceman took the new ball and ended with figures of 13.3-4-22-1 – an economy rate of just 1.65 runs per over.
Eighteen-year-old Finch and fellow new ball bowler George Balderson – 10.3-5-25-1 – made the Bangladesh batsmen work hard for their runs.
But half centuries from Mohammad Hossain, Tawhid Hridoy and Akbar Ali scored half centuries to lead the home side to 266-5 from 83 overs by the close.
Bangladesh will resume tomorrow on the penultimate day of the four-day game 14 runs in arrears.
Finch made an early breakthrough in his first spell with just 12 runs on the board when he dismissed opener Tahzid Hasan (4).
The County’s Academy product did not add to his overnight four not out before being dismissed when the Young Lions resumed on 261-8
They were eventually bowled out for 280 in 94.2 overs.
