Final Group Positions Will Decide Rapids Quarter-Final Opponents

Worcestershire Rapids will be able to work out who they will face at home in the quarter-finals of the NatWest T20 Blast once the final positions in the North and South Groups are determined tomorrow evening.

There is no open draw for the last eight with, where a team ends up in the table, determining who will provide the opposition.

The winners of North Group will play the fourth placed team in the South Group, and runners-up in the North Group will face the third placed side in the South Group.

On the same basis the county which comes top of the South Group will play the fourth placed club in the North Group and runners-up in the South Group will play the third placed side in the North Group.

As things stand, the Rapids, who entertain Lancashire Lightning tomorrow evening, could face one of SIX possible opponents at New Road in the quarter-finals.

Kent are guaranteed to finish top of the South Group but Sussex, Essex, Hampshire, Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Surrey all theoretically still have a chance of qualifying somewhere in positions two, three and four.

An open draw will only come into play to determine the semi-final line-up at Edgbaston on finals day on Saturday, August 29.
