callum ferguson helped sydney thunder to make it two wins out of two in the big bash with a 20 run win over sydney sixers on christmas eve.
the worcestershire batsman made 23 batting at number three before he was run out as the thunder totalled 169-9.
then the 34-year-old held onto an important catch at the end conclusion of the sixers innings which ended on 148-9.
victory enabled the thunder to head into christmas with an impressive start to the competition under their belts after the opening win over melbourne stars.
ferguson, who is returning to New Road next summer, went to the wicket at 54-1 and added 48 with jos buttler.
his 24 ball knock contained two boundaries before he was run out at the non striker’s end after a mix-up with buttler who top scored with 63.
the sixers were reduced to 56-6 before tom curran (62) and sean abbott (35) added 88 for the seventh wicket.
but they were always battling to reach the required scoring rate and ferguson disposed of abbott when he held onto a catch at long off.
