Tom Fell made his first team comeback for Worcestershire today in the Specsavers County Championship clash with Leicestershire at New Road.
The 22-year-old had been included in the squad for the previous Championship clash with Derbyshire at the 3aaa County Ground but did not make the final eleven.
But the former Oakham School pupil was given the green light to play his first senior game since being given the all clear in his double battle against cancer.
It is his first appearance since scoring a career best 171 in the final Championship match of last season against Middlesex at New Road – an innings that took him past 1,000 runs for the campaign.
Fell has been playing second team cricket for the County and club cricket for Wolverhampton during the past month and also working on his fitness.
He fielded at mid wicket after Leicestershire skipper Mark Cosgrove won the toss and elected to bat.
On Friday his team-mates organised a #YELL4FELL and Cricket Versus Cancer event as part of the NatWest T20 Blast match with Derbyshire.
