there will be a feast of international cricket for worcestershire ccc members and supporters to enjoy at New Road next summer.
the county will host six days of action including another match involving england lions for whom josh tongue and joe clarke are currently part of the squad in australia.
the lions will take on india ‘a’ in a four-day match at New Road beginning on july 16.
this follows on from this summer’s match against south africa – their final match before the first test with england.
england women will take on south africa women in a royal london one-day international at the county’s headquarters on june 9.
worcestershire themselves will be in action on june 19 with a 50 over clash against west indies ‘a’ as part of their tour of england.
the international programme is another feather in the cap for the county who have hosted many such international matches in recent years.
worcestershire ccc chairman stephen taylor said: “it is always special to host international matches, some of which have included our own players – and may do again in the future.
“spectators get the chance to see the up and coming talent in this country via the lions and with some of the touring sides.
“it adds that little bit extra to what is already an exciting programme for our members and supporters.”
the tour matches fixtures means a minimum of 45 days cricket will be staged at new road this summer and adds even more value for money to being a worcestershire ccc member for 2018.
the county will participate in seven four-day specsavers county championship, seven t20 blast and four royal london one-day cup matches.
