Josh Tongue's breakthrough into the Worcestershire senior side has yielded an encouraging return of 14 wickets from the opening four Specsavers County Championship matches of the campaign.
The Academy product has made an instant impact as part of a four pronged pace attack and picked up his first five wicket haul on his debut against Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium.
Tongue has also bowled with plenty of aggression and Northamptonshire batsman Richard Levi was forced to retire after being hit on the helmet during the second innings at Wantage Road.
Only skipper Joe Leach – who heads the County's bowling averages – has taken more wickets with 26 so far to his name this summer including three five wicket hauls.
But all members of the attack have contributed towards a maximum bowling bonus points haul to date in 2017.
On the batting front, Daryl Mitchell's run of 120, 161 and 78 not out has propelled him to the top of the County's averages with 390 runs at an average of 65.00.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore (242) and Brett D'Oliveira (213) are the other main run-getters.
