Worcestershire Cricket Society have received an initial encouraging response to plans to visit Sussex and Hampshire on a three-day trip before the start of next season in early April.
Organiser Mike Hitchings reports that more than 25 people have expressed an interest in the excursion which would incorporate visits to Hove, the Ageas Bowl, Brighton and the New Forest with a base for two nights at a hotel in the Portsmouth area.
Dates and costs will be finalised once the cricket fixtures for the 2017 season are released towards the end of November.
Society committee member Hitchings also organised the successful two-day trip to Manchester this April which included a tour of Emirates Old Trafford.
He said: "I have taken quite a few names of people who are interested or from people who went this year who definitely want to come.
"We are already up to about 25 to 28 people and need 40 to make it a viable concern.
"We will be having a 53 seater executive coach so will definitely be able to accommodate that number of people.
"I have been down to Sussex and Hampshire and have contacts at both clubs who would be happy to welcome the Society for a tour and then provide tea and coffee afterwards.
"We would also be looking at visits to Brighton and the New Forest."
Hitchings added: "We would be looked to be based in a hotel around the Portsmouth area because there is plenty to do there and also because it would be an ideal base for the final day when visiting Hampshire and then the New Forest on our way home.
"We can't give out any definite dates until the fixtures come out towards the end of November and as soon as that happens we can finalise dates and be able to work out details of the cost of the trip."
Anyone interested can contact Mike via email at mikehitchings@aol.com, by post at 34 Derwent Drive, Mitton, Tewkesbury, Gloucs, GL20 8BB or via his mobile on 07979 464715.

*Full details of the schedule for the trip are available in the October edition of the Society's newsletter which we will publicise on the Worcs CCC website during the next few days.
