Worcestershire CCC duo Rehaan Edavalath and Reeve Evitts have been selected to take part in a ‘Best v Best’ three-day encounter for potential England Young Lions players at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough.
Batter Edavalath, aged 18, and all-rounder Evitts, aged 17, are part of the squad of players chosen for the red ball match between ‘Young Lions A’ and ‘Young Lions B’ starting tomorrow (Friday September 16).
Edavalath has demonstrated his potential on a consistent basis for Worcestershire’s Academy and Seconds teams this summer with a string of big scores.
He recently hit an unbeaten double century for the Academy against Somerset at Taunton Vale and followed that up with 164 for the Seconds against Gloucestershire at Brockhampton.
Edavalath has signed his first rookie contract for Worcestershire will come into effect from October 1.
Evitts has also made his mark in Academy and Seconds cricket this summer.
He made his senior debut in the Royal London Cup encounter with Lancashire at Emirates Old Trafford when he bowled six tidy overs for 21 runs.
