Ecb Appoint Scott Smith As Chief Financial Officer

The England and Wales Cricket Board [ECB] has appointed Scott Smith as Chief Financial Officer.

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer Tom Harrison, Scott will be Company Secretary and a member of the ECB Leadership Team.

Currently CFO of The America’s Cup – the oldest trophy in International sport – he will start his role in the ECB head office at Lord’s in May 2016.

He will be responsible for reporting and budgeting within the ECB, supporting revenue objectives across the game and giving financial guidance at all levels.

Scott will also lead key business services including Information Technology and Procurement as well as the Finance team.

On making the appointment, Tom Harrison said; “Scott has experience in sport, all the credentials of an excellent CFO and the leadership skills to drive improvement.

“His love of cricket is clear and he can help us make a difference to the game in the years ahead. With all the personal and professional qualities he brings, I’m excited to have him join our leadership team and the game.”

Scott has been with the America’s Cup since 2011, ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance and risk management during a period of continued growth.

He was previously Group Financial Controller for Lend Lease Corporation in London, the global project and construction business.

Scott was also with A1GP World Cup of Motorsport in London, from 2005 to 2009, where his role as Group Finance Director in a global start-up gave him experience across all operations and strategic planning.

On joining the ECB, Scott said; “I’m looking forward to joining the ECB, being part of a leadership team that has ideas and energy and helping to support and develop a sport I love."
