DOUBLE WICKET SUCCESS FOR COUNTY PACEMAN FINCH BUT YOUNG LIONS ARE WHITEWASHED

Adam Finch picked up two wickets but England Young Lions went down by 63 runs to Bangladesh Under-19s in the third ODI in Cox’s Bazar and suffered a 3-0 series whitewash.

The Worcestershire paceman returned to the side and took the new ball but enjoyed his double success when he returned to the attack for a later spell.

Finch broke a fourth wicket stand of 92 between Shamim Hossain (72) and Mahmudul Hasan Joy (57) by having the latter caught behind with the total on 157 in the 35th over.

He also accounted for number nine Rishad Hossain (22) and ended with figures of 2-48 from his 10 overs.

It followed on from his 1-49 in the opening match of the series.

But Bangladesh posted an eventual total of 266-9 – and this proved too much for England to overcome.

George Hill (3-37) was the most successful Young Lions bowler.

Opener Ben Charlesworth hit an excellent 115 but England were dismissed for 203 in 46.3 overs.

Finch went in at number 10 and was bowled third ball for a duck but already by then any hopes of victory had evaporated.
