Worcestershire Women’s Rapids continue their bid for more trophy glory this summer when they take on Wales at St. Fagan’s CC on Sunday (August 28) in the West Midlands Regional Cup.
The 50-over group encounter is a dress rehearsal for the final at Moseley on September 4, as both teams are guaranteed to finish in the top two.
The Rapids and Wales have each won their opening two games and are level on 35 points, ahead of Staffordshire (nine points) and Warwickshire (three points).
Worcestershire have already won the ECB County T20 Cup Group Two tournament this summer and have been in excellent form.
Captain and keeper Chloe Hill said: “It would be really exciting if we could do the double. We’ve had a successful campaign so far and it has been a real joy to be part of.
“Since losing the opening T20 game, we have managed to win every game since, and there has been some really good progress.
“It has just been nice to have continuity in the team, to have the same group of girls week in and week out.
“I know we are missing a couple of girls to The Hundred in Emily Arlott and Amy Campbell, but, other than that, the team has been virtually the same, and they have stood up and done what they needed to do in the games.”
Sunday’s game was originally scheduled to be played at Panteg CC but has been switched to St. Fagan’s CC, with play getting underway at 11am.
