brett d’oliveira will have a fitness test on friday ahead of the vitality blast encounter with birmingham bears at edgbaston.
the all-rounder suffered a badly bruised finger while fielding on the second day of the seconds encounter with warwickshire seconds at barnt green yesterday.
d’oliveira did not bat today and was replaced by xavie clarke who was called up from the academy match with leicestershire at barnt green.
he will take no further part in the four-day fixture.
worcestershire head coach kevin sharp, who is overseeing the third and fourth days of the seconds match, said: “brett got a knock on his finger and badly bruised it while fielding yesterday.
“he will take no further part in the seconds game and will have a fitness test on friday ahead of the game at edgbaston.”
d’oliveira scored a fine 64 and looked back to his best in sunday’s blast encounter with notts outlaws at New Road.
he has skippered the rapids in the blast whenever official t20 captain moeen ali has been on england duty.
