Worcestershire CCC all-rounder Ed Barnard gave his reaction at the end of day three of the Specsavers County Championship match with Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl.
Barnard, who picked up the final two wickets in Hampshire’s second innings, said: “It has been topsy-turvy, the whole game, but we are probably a little bit disappointed with the way they got away from us this morning.
“Kyle (Abbott) obviously batted very well for them in that partnership (with Brad Wheal) which allowed them to get more than we would have wanted.
“Tails have got stronger over the last couple of years, and Kyle is a Test cricketer, so we can’t be too disappointed.
“We have got a bit of a start (in our second innings) and Daryl Mitchell is still out there so hopefully he can go big and help us chase them down.
“It has been a brilliant cricket wicket, there is something for the bowlers but it is also possible to bat on.
“If you can get in, you can play your shots.
“We have to very confident tomorrow. Daryl has scored a lot of first-class runs and we still have plenty of batting to go around him.”
