Matt Davis will captain the Worcestershire Under-17 side when they launch their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign against Hampshire Under-17s at Stourport CC on Sunday.
The County paceman is part of the Worcestershire CCC Academy intake in 2017-2018 – his second year as a full member.
Davis previously captained the Worcestershire Under-15s but this is his first taste of leading the Under-17s.
Play will get underway in the 50 over competition at 12 noon.
With the senior County side not in action on that day, it is a chance for supporters to watch some of the budding players of the future in action.
Worcestershire only narrowly missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals last summer.
They overcame Nottinghamshire by one wicket in a thrilling 50 over match last weekend at RGS Worcester in a warm-up game for tomorrow’s fixture.
Coach Elliot Wilson’s side will continue their One-Day Cup programme next weekend when they take on Somerset Under-17s at Clevedon (May 27).
They then visit Devon at Heathcoat on June 10 before wrapping up the group stages against Gloucestershire at RGS Worcester on June 17.
Wilson has named a 12 strong squad for Sunday’s fixture.
