DARYL MITCHELL GUEST SPEAKER AT CRICKET SOCIETY AGM ON APRIL 11

Worcestershire Cricket Society will stage their Annual General Meeting on Monday, April 11 in the Graeme Hick Pavilion with former Worcestershire CCC opener, Daryl Mitchell, the guest speaker.

Mitchell retired at the end of last season after 17 years as a first team player at New Road to become PCA Cricket Operations Director on a full-time basis.

But he has also spent the winter writing his autobiography which is set to be published on April 25 and he will be discussing this at the Society AGM.

The book, entitled ‘Once A Pear….’ has been put together in conjunction with BBC Hereford-Worcester cricket commentator and cricket coach, Frank Watson.

Worcestershire Rapids Vitality Blast captain, Moeen Ali, who opened many times with Mitchell, has written the foreword.

There is a quote from the England all-rounder on the front cover which reads “When I think of Worcestershire, I think of Mitch. He’s always been my go-to guy.”

The Society AGM gets underway at 7pm and all members are welcome to attend.
