Daryl Mitchell and Riki Wessels are approaching T20 individual records for Worcestershire Rapids with Vitality Blast 2019 finals day only 24 hours away.
Mitchell needs two wickets to become Worcestershire’s all-time leading wicket-taker in the short format of the game.
Wessels needs four runs to become only the third Worcestershire player to score 400 runs in a T20 campaign.
The two wickets picked up by Mitchell in the quarter-final win over Sussex Sharks at Hove took his overall tally to 91.
He is only one scalp behind left-armer Jack Shantry who was forced to retire last summer because of injury.
Wessels is looking to emulate the achievements of Mitchell (412 runs) in 2015 and the late Phil Hughes (402 in 2012) when he faces his former club, Notts Outlaws.
His assured 47 against the Sharks in support of century-maker Moeen Ali took his Blast run tally this summer to 396 – including three half centuries.
