Daryl Mitchell is determined to keep climbing Worcestershire’s list of century-makers after over-taking four illustrious names last summer.
The 34-year-old has moved into seventh spot in the County’s all-time charts with 34 first class hundreds for Worcestershire.
In 2018 he overtook Basil D’Oliveira, Alan Ormrod, Tom Moody and Ron Headley after scoring four tons in the Specsavers County Championship.
That lifted Mitchell’s century tally to 11 in the last two seasons.
He said: “It was never really a goal as such when growing up but everytime I get a century now, there is something said about over-taking a big name or going level with a big name!
“You do sort of sit up and take notice of those things.
“I feel proud to have scored as many hundreds as those guys have done for Worcestershire, the Tom Graveney’s, the Basil D’Oliveira’s, and Tom Moody’s and to be around those sort of names.
“I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t looked at the list and hopefully I can tick off a couple more as I go on.”
