Keeper Ben Cox insists Worcestershire are focused on finishing as LV= County Championship Division Two champions and do not want to settle for the runners-up spot.
Cox and the rest of the squad will report back for duty tomorrow after being given the opportunity to recharge their batteries by Director Of Cricket Steve Rhodes after the recent hectic schedule.
Worcestershire still head the table despite suffering their first Championship defeat of the season in their last match against Gloucestershire at New Road nine day ago.
Cox believes the break will have recharged the players batteries for the final three games, starting with Sunday's clash with Derbyshire at Derby.
He said: "I know what a lovely ground it is but you spend so much time here and it's just nice to get away for a break and freshen up, freshen the legs and mind, and then you come back in and enjoy the cricket again.
"It was manic for two weeks and everyone was getting tired, fed up, especially with the loss to Gloucestershire.
"The bowlers will be fresh and we've got to focus on three games left, 12 days of cricket left.
"We've got to give it every little bit of effort because we want to finish number one now. We are not settling for second spot.
"We've been number one for most of the year and there is no reason now for settling for being number two.
"We're focused on finishing first."
