Worcestershire duo Ben Cox and Richard Oliver continue their good form Down Under for Greenvale Kangaroos and Geelong City respectively in the latest round of matches.
Cox, batting at number five, followed up his 57 off 44 balls in last week's win over Melbourne with 93 not out for the Kangaroos in the Victorian Premier clash with Hawthorn-Monash University.
His county colleague Jack Shantry weighed in with 32 and shared in a fifth wicket stand of 48 with Cox as Greenvale reached 212-8 in their 50 overs after being put into bat.
But their efforts were unable to prevent Greenvale from suffering a three wicket defeat with 11 balls remaining – the first win by Hawthorn-Monash for nearly 12 months.
Shantry bowled his 10 overs for 40 runs.
Skipper Oliver had scored 116 for Geelong against Murgheboluc and this weekend he hit 65 in an eight wicket win over Grovedale in a Geelong Cricket Association Division One meeting.
The opening batsman first contributed in the field with three catches as Grovedale were bowled out for 137 in 43.5 overs after electing to bat.
Oliver then shared a second wicket partnership of 90 with TS Elliott before being second out at 109. Geelong reached their modest target in just 27.3 overs.
