Worcestershire's bowlers will be trying to preserve a remarkable record when they take on Essex in an LV County Championship clash at Chelmsford starting tomorrow.
Skipper Daryl Mitchell's side will be aiming to collect maximum bowling points for the 28th successive match.
The county achieved that feat in the last 12 matches of 2013 and all 15 to date during the current campaign.
No other county in either division has matched their efforts in 2014 which have to date yielded 45 points.
It is a testament to the hard work put in by bowling coach Matt Mason and the bowlers during the winter months.
But promoted Worcestershire will be up against the current form side of Division Two in Essex who have won their last four matches.
They last won five matches in a row in 2002 when they triumphed in the last five games of that season to win Division Two.
The other fixtures starting tomorrow are Derbyshire v Leicestershire at the 3aaa Ground, Glamorgan v Hampshire at the Swalec Stadium and Kent v Gloucestershire at the Spitfire Ground.
