Worcestershire Under-17s will launch their ECB County Championship campaign tomorrow with a three-day game against Gloucestershire at King's School, Gloucester.
The County will play four three-day matches in the Under-17 competition during the next three weeks.
The tournament will provide invaluable experience for the group of promising youngsters of playing in the longer format of the game.
Academy coach Elliot Wilson has named a 12 strong squad for the opening game.
Callum Lea will skipper the Under-17s against their nearby rivals with Ben Fitzmaurice keeping wicket.
They will next week take on Devon Under-17s at Stourport (July 25-27) followed by an away fixture with Hampshire at Basingstoke CC (July 31-August 2).
The group will conclude with a home clash – to be confirmed – against Somerset at Stourbridge CC (August 7-9).
