*Worcestershire CCC Development Of Excellence X1 went down by 66 runs to Cheshire CCB Under-14s at Rode Park and Lawton CC.
The Worcestershire side consisted of a group of talented Under-12s, Under-13s and Under-14s and gained invaluable experience from playing against a stronger, older group which challenges their skills levels.
Given the miserable morning weather, the hosts did a superb job to get play underway in a 40 overs a side game.
Cheshire scored 182-6 in their 40 overs with Josh Baker (8-0-25-2) and Alex Jordan (7-0-47-1) the Worcestershire wicket-takers in addition to three run-outs.
Worcestershire were bowled out for 116 in 39.3 overs.
Oli Cox top-scored with 30 off 78 balls with five fours with Baker (19 not out) and Reehan Edavaleth (16) the other players into double figures.
