County Under-15S Through To Royal London Cup Final

Worcestershire Cricket Under-15s are through to the final of the ECB's Royal London Under-15 County Cup and will take on Kent Cricket in the final at Leamington on Wednesday.

The County side defeated Derbyshire Cricket Board by 55 runs in the semi-final at Barnt Green to book their place in the 'B' Division final.

It follows on from the success of Barnt Green – including nine members of the Worcestershire CCC Cricket Pathway – winning the ECB Under-15 National Club Championships.

Worcestershire Cricket were put into bat in the semi-final and totalled 241-8 in their 50 overs.

Daniel Holland top-scored with 56 off 100 balls with six fours and he shared in an opening stand of 83 with Harry Baddams who hit 31 off 41 deliveries with five boundaries.

There were also useful contributions from Jack Haynes (24) and Ben Fitzmaurice (27).

Derbyshire were then bowled out for 186 as Holland completed a fine all-round performance with 3-26 from six overs.

Aaron Tomson (3-43 in 10 overs) also enjoyed a successful time with Zain Hassan (1-23), Thomas Maidment (1-32) and Sebastian Grace (1-31) the other wicket-takers.

Worcestershire Cricket qualified for the semi-finals by topping their group which consisted of Buckinghamshire CB, Northamptonshire CB, Shropshire CB and Herefordshire Cricket.

They finished level on points with Buckinghamshire but had a superior net run rate.
