worcestershire ccc have switched their specsavers county championship match against derbyshire from New Road to kidderminster cricket club.
the division two championship fixture has been moved to chester road so that preparatory work and cleaning up can continue at the county’s headquarters after the recent flooding.
the four day game will get underway on sunday 7th july at kidderminster and is the second championship encounter to have been transferred after last week’s drawn game against sussex.
the 50 over encounter against australia ‘a’ was also due to take place on the ground today but was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
the club are hoping to be back at their headquarters for the opening home vitality blast match against birmingham bears on friday 19th july.
