Hamish Rutherford’s side, Otago Volts, will be looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Super Smash when they take on Central Districts at Napier tomorrow (Thursday).
Worcestershire CCC 2020 signing Rutherford and his team-mates remain two points clear after nearest challengers Wellington lost their game in hand to Northern Districts today (Wednesday).
Rutherford has played a full part in Otago’s flying start with 158 runs in six knocks, a top score of 52 and an impressive strike rate of 183.72.
Victory tomorrow will stretch the Volts advantage to six points and increase their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Worcestershire CCC 2020 Vitality Blast signing, Ashton Turner, was on the winning side in Perth Scorchers latest game in the Big Bash League today – a 40 run success over Brisbane Heat.
Turner, who is available for the Rapids entire Blast campaign next summer, was dismissed for 14 from 16 balls after returning to the number four spot.
Cameron Bancroft’s 50 enabled the Scorchers to total 149-6 and then Brisbane Heat were bowled out for 109 in 18.4 overs.
