Worcestershire CCC 2018 white ball success story and 2019 signing Callum Ferguson will again be playing in the Big Bash during the 2018-2019 tournament – and alongside some of England’s biggest names.
The Australian batsman, who will celebrate his 34th birthday next week, will undergo his second campaign with Sydney Thunder.
Ferguson had previously played in the T20 competition Down Under for Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades.
He will be looking to demonstrate the outstanding form he showed for the Worcestershire Rapids in helping them to Vitality Blast glory and also in topping the North Group in the Royal London One-Day Cup.
His team-mates will include current England Test captain Joe Root plus Jos Buttler and Chris Jordan.
Also part of the squad is former Worcestershire overseas signing Mitchell McClenaghan with Shane Watson captaining the side.
The Thunder – the 2015-2016 winners – will be looking to improve on last season’s performance in the competition when they finished sixth in the eight-team group.
They will launch their campaign at home to Melbourne Stars on December 21.
Ferguson, who will join up with Worcestershire on May 1 after getting married, played in eight matches for the Thunder in 2017-2018.
