COUNTY PACEMAN FINCH AND YOUNG LIONS LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK IN TEST SERIES

Adam Finch and England Young Lions will be aiming for better fortunes when they switch to red ball cricket to take on Bangladesh Under-19s in two four day ‘Tests’ during the next fortnight.

The Worcestershire paceman and his team-mates will be determined to try and bounce back from T20I and ODI setbacks against the host nation.

Finch picked up 4-47 and 4-22 in his last Test appearance for the Young Lions against South Africa at the Emirates Riverside last summer.

But conditions in Bangladesh are posing a different challenge as part of a hugely beneficial learning curve for the Academy product.

Eighteen-year-old Finch had excellent figures of 1-8 from three overs in the seven wicket T20I defeat.

The Wordsley born player then had returns of 1-49 and 2-48 after being selected for the first and third ODIs – all staged in Cox’s Bazar.

The Young Lions went down by five wickets in both of the first two ODIs and 63 runs in the final game.

The opening Test match will be staged at Chittagong from this Thursday with the second match starting on February 15.

Both encounters are four-day affairs.

Finch will then fly home to continue his preparations for what will be his first summer as a fully fledged professional player.
