COUNTY MEMBER RUNNING HALF MARATHON IN AID OF ACORNS CHILDREN’S HOSPICE

Worcestershire CCC member Ross Fletcher is running a half marathon at the end of this month in aid of the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Ross, who is from the Black Country, had originally intended to participate in the Bedford Half Marathon before it was cancelled.

However he is determined to play his part in helping Acorns and instead will run the 13 miles by himself via six laps of a circuit alongside the River Severn on September 29.

Ross will run alongside the Cathedral side of the river, cross over via the footbridge just below Diglis Weir and then run back along the opposite side half a dozen times.

His efforts in aid of such an excellent cause follow on from the success of the Rapids Relay during COVID-19 lockdown.

Worcestershire CCC players and officials completed a seven-day, 12 hours a day relay in which they covered over 1,000 kilometres and donations from members and supporters raised over £17,000 for Acorns.
