Worcestershire CCC wicket-keeper batsman Alex Milton is closing in on 1,000 runs for Cardiff CC in the South Wales Premier Cricket League.
Milton made another sizeable contribution with 96 in the away winning draw with Ammanford CC.
It took Milton's league run tally to 945 – the highest in the league this season – at an average of 94.50 and in 13 innings he has scored five centuries and five fifties.
His latest knock spanned 129 balls and contained one six and nine fours and followed on from his impressive 91 versus a powerful Yorkshire Seconds attack in Worcestershire Seconds Championship match at RGS Worcester.
Milton shared in an opening stand of 94 with Umar Malik and a further 103 for the second wicket with Connor Brown as Cardiff totalled 235-7 in 50 overs after being put into bat.
He had scored an unbeaten 102 against the same opponents earlier in the campaign.
Ammanford closed on 227-6 from their 50 overs but Cardiff now have a 30 point lead at the top of the table over Pontarddulais with four games remaining.
Milton will now revert back to County action for the three-day Championship match with Nottinghamshire at Notts Sports Club starting tomorrow (Monday).
