County Duo Sitting On Top Of The Tree In Division Two

Worcestershire have reached the half-way stage of their Specsavers County Championship programme for 2017 – and have the leading Division Two run-scorer and top wicket-taker in the country.

Daryl Mitchell and skipper Joe Leach are at the top of the respective batting and bowling charts after outstanding contributions during the first two and a half months of the campaign.

Opener Mitchell has amassed 731 Division Two runs which includes four Championship centuries in the last five matches.

The 33-year-old chairman of the Professional Cricketers’ Association has an average of 60.92 from his 13 innings.

The forthcoming day-night match with Durham will be a battle of the top two scorers in Division Two as next in line is Paul Collingwood on 728 at an average of 66.18.
