Worcestershire duo George Rhodes and Charlie Morris are enjoying success with Onslow CC and Tuggeranong Valley respectively on the other side of the world.
All-rounder Rhodes was a regular member of the County side during the second half of the season which lifted the Specsavers County Championship title.
Now Rhodes, who featured in several crucial century partnerships for Worcestershire, is part of the Onslow side setting the pace in the Ewen Chatfield Trophy 50 over competition in New Zealand.
Rhodes’ side have won all five matches to date in the competition and have collected a maximum haul of 25 points.
They are five points ahead of Johnsonville CC and six ahead of Eastern Suburbs in the 12 team table.
Onslow’s wins have come against North City, Upper Hutt DC, Wellington Collegians, Karora and Taita.
This weekend they will take on second from bottom Petone-Eastbourne CC.
Morris’s team, Tuggeranong Valley, have also made an excellent start to the winter in Australia’s McDonald’s ACT Premier Cricket first grade.
Tuggeranong are currently lying in joint second spot on 21 points alongside Weston Creek Molonglo and have won four, drawn two and lost one of their first seven matches.
But both sides have ground to make up on Western District UC who head the table by eight points.
