Worcestershire chief executive Tom Scott was "delighted and encouraged" by the initial response to yesterday's opening of 'Foley's' coffee house and eatery.
The first customers came through the door shortly after the 7am opening time and there was a steady flow of people experiencing the new project housed in the former 1865 Lounge-Kenyon Room.
In addition to the general public passing by New Road, members and supporters sampled the breakfasts, brunches and top notch coffee on offer.
And there was a general thumbs up to the quality of the food which is all high quality local produce.
Tom Scott said: "A lot of work has gone into this project in recent months – one which we see as a major one for the club.
"We had a successful launch event on Monday evening and it was great feeling yesterday morning (Tuesday) when the first customer came through the door.
"Although we were confident in the quality of the coffee and food we are providing, you still have a few nerves with any new project and you want it all to go off smoothly.
"It was encouraging to see so many people use 'Foley's' on the first day and we are confident that once word spreads of what we have to offer, more people will take advantage of the facility.
"It was good to see young mothers take advantage of the toddlers area but also people were holding business discussions."
*'Foley's is open on non match days from 7am to 3pm and on match days from 7am until close of play with supporters inside the ground having exclusive use after 9.30am on matchdays.
