Worcestershire CCC enjoyed another profitable day of practice on day one of their two-day match with Cambridge MCCU in Abu Dhabi.
The University batted all day and scored a combined total of 264 for the loss of 13 wickets from 90 overs.
The County used many of their main bowlers in Cambridge’s first innings – Josh Tongue, Steve Magoffin, Joe Leach, Ed Barnard, Pat Brown, Charlie Morris, George Scrimshaw, Jack Shantry and George Rhodes.
All of the seamers bowled nine overs apiece in this innings as the students were dismissed for 173.
Tongue, Barnard and Brown – who has just signed his first professional contract for Worcestershire – both claimed two wickets apiece.
There was one each for Leach, Morris,Scrimshaw, Shantry and Rhodes.
It enabled all of the County’s bowlers to clock up some more bowling miles in their legs following the one-dayer against a UAE X1 on Wednesday.
Cambridge then had another bat and Brown and Tongue picked up another wicket apiece.
Worcestershire will have their turn to get in some more batting practice on the final day of the game.
