Josh Dell scored a century but it proved to be in vain as Ombersley went down by 27 runs to Barnt Green in a Birmingham Premier League Premier Division fixture.
Dell, who signed his first professional contract with Worcestershire earlier this summer, made exactly 100 off 111 balls with 12 fours.
He came to the wicket at 9-1 and was fifth out at 215 as Ombersley, who were chasing 300 for victory, were bowled out for 272.
Earlier Worcester Academy player Zain Ul-Hassan, who this week is part of the Midlands squad for the ‘Super-Fours’ at Loughborough, hit 68 off 67 balls for Barnt Green with one six and six fours.
County coach Andy Sutton contributed an unbeaten 41 in his side’s 299-7 off 50 overs.
In the same division, Worcestershire Second Eleven physio, Trevor Keen, struck 43 of Walsall’s 174 all out in 46.5 overs but his side lost to Berkswell by six wickets.
In Division One, County all-rounder George Rhodes picked up two important wickets in Barnards Green’s 22 run win over Tamworth.
Rhodes had been dismissed for nine in the Green’s modest looking 185 all out in 48.4 overs.
But he made an impact with the ball, dismissing Tamworth top-scorer Jason Jakeman who was caught and bowled for 57 off 50 balls.
Rhodes then broke a partnership of 50 for the ninth wicket between Daniel Bowker (21) and Ben Maddox (35) when dismissing the former as Tamworth were bowled out for 163 in 45.1 overs.
England Under-19 paceman Adam Finch made 38 of Himley’s 188-9 as they edged out Wellington (183 all out in 48.5 overs) by six runs.
Vitality Blast hero, Pat Brown, bowled five overs for six runs for Kidderminster who defeated Oswestry by eight wickets.
Ben Twohig chipped with 1-10 as Oswestry were bowled out for 106 in 30.3 overs and then made 24 off 18 balls with five fours as Kidderminster raced to a comfortable win.
