Worcestershire all-rounder Ross Whiteley hammered 132 off 81 balls when playing for Chesterfield in the Derbyshire Premier County Cricket League clash away to Eckington on Saturday.
Whiteley, batting at number four, demonstrated his awesome power by smashing 10 sixes and 12 fours – a total of 108 in boundaries.
His efforts helped Chesterfield to reach 328 all out in 47.3 overs but Eckington held on for a losing draw at 192-9 with Whiteley bowling two overs for eight runs.
Whiteley also appeared for Chesterfield yesterday in a Premier Cup match against the same opposition.
He returned figures of 7-0-33-2 as Eckington were dismissed for 244 in 49.2 overs.
Whiteley managed just six on this occasion with the bat as Chesterfield were bowled out for 205 in 46.1 overs.
He was included in the squad for the LV = County Championship clash with Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge today but Ed Barnard was chosen as the replacement for Moeen Ali.
