Wayne Parnell smashed an explosive half century but his splendid efforts were in vain as he finished on the losing side in the T10 League in Sharjah today.
The Worcestershire all-rounder led a virtual one-man rescue act with the bat for Kerala Kings against Sindhis.
He came to the wicket at 12-5 after Indian leg spinner Pravin Tambe had taken a hat-trick in the opening over of the game.
Tambe ended with five wickets as Eoin Morgan, Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard were all dismissed for ducks.
But then up stepped Parnell to reach his half century off just 20 balls with four sixes and five fours.
He ended unbeaten on 59 from 24 deliveries as Kerala closed on 103-7 and his only worthwhile support came from Sohail Tanvir (23) in a stand of 49 in 4.2 overs.
However, Sindhis made light of their task and raced to a nine wicket win with 2.2 overs to spare. Parnell bowled one over for 11 runs.
Another Worcestershire player in Riki Wessels was not included in the Bengal Tigers side which triumphed by 36 runs against Northern Warriors.
