Worcestershire Club Captain Brett D’Oliveira has returned to action ahead of Thursday’s Vitality County Championship Division One encounter with Kent at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
D’Oliveira played for his Birmingham and District Premier League side Ombersley against Barnt Green and picked up two wickets and scored 21 not out in a six wicket win.
The all-rounder has been undergoing extensive rehab to his shoulder problem during the Metro Bank One Day Cup to ensure he is in the best possible shape for the resumption of red ball cricket.
He finished with figures of 10-0-38-2 as Barnt Green, for whom Worcestershire wicket-keeper Henry Cullen scored 66 off 64 balls, totalled 218-9 in 50 overs.
D’Oliveira, batting at number six, then saw Ombersley over the finishing line with two overs to spare at 222-4 and struck one six and two fours in his 20 ball knock.
Another Worcestershire player in Olly Cox had given the Ombersley innings a solid start with 54 off 71 balls.
Rehaan Edavalath scored 41 for Wolverhampton (286-9) in their 29 run success over Barnards Green who were dismissed for 257.
Academy batter Daniel Lategan continued his fine form with 83 to help Kidderminster to a three wicket win over Wellington.
Lategan had scored a century in both innings for the Academy earlier in the week in their drawn ECB County Championship fixture with Somerset at Taunton Vale.
He went in first for Kidderminster and hit one six and seven fours in his 118 ball knock as Kidderminster chased down a 211 target with one over to spare.
He was sixth out at 154 but Nathan Jukes (37 not out) ensured Kidderminster secured victory.
Hishaam Khan, who played for Worcestershire in the One Day Cup, scored 34 batting at number four and had figures of 9-1-39-2 for Moseley (214 all out) who defeated Kenilworth Wardens by 65 runs.
