Worcestershire batsman Joe Clarke says he has "lots to learn" after a challenging winter with the England Lions.
Clarke was part of the Lions squad for the five week tour of Sri Lanka which incorporated two 'Tests' and five ODIs against Sri Lanka 'A'.
He was left out of the two 'Tests' after scoring 10 and 10 in the warm-up game against the President's X1 when he kept wicket in place of the then injured Ben Foakes.
Clarke was back into action for the ODI series but after scores of 7, 26, 13 and 1 he was left out of the fifth and final game on Saturday in Colombo.
The Lions drew the 'Test' series 1-1 and were beaten 3-2 in the ODIs after losing the first three games.
Clarke's busy winter now continues by being part of the North squad for the three 50 over matches against the South – the first two in Dubai and the third in Abu Dhabi.
The 20-year-old tweeted: "Tough tour, great experience and lots to learn! Looking forward to joining up with the North team in Dubai now!"
