Joe Clarke is determined to keep on improving as a player and the Worcestershire batsman admitted "you can't afford to stand still."
The 19-year-old knows coaches will look to exploit any potential weaknesses in his game after he made a big impact last summer on breaking into the first team at New Road.
Clarke scored his maiden Royal London One-Day Cup and County Championship hundreds against Gloucestershire and Sussex respectively.
It earned him a spot in the England Lions squad this winter for the T20 and 50 over series against Pakistan 'A' in Dubai.
But Clarke is aware of the importance of making further steps forward and trying to ensure there are "no weak links" as he prepares for the 2016 campaign.
On becoming a 'marked man' this summer, Clarke said: "It's one of those things, I found out pretty quickly that teams worked out my technique anyway even though I only played 10-12 games.
"They do obviously do their research on you and try and point out any weakness you have and exploit that.
"A couple of times I did get exploited.
"But then it is down to me then to work really, really hard so as not to make that an issue.
"You've always got to be on your toes and always making sure there are no weak links and you can go out there and bowlers don't know where to bowl at you.
"You can't afford to stand still. Always you've got to be looking to improve everything, I guess."
