Worcestershire Women’s Rapids player Charis Pavely has been named in the England IT20 squad for two matches against Ireland next month.
Pavely is part of a 13 strong squad for the double header at Castle Avenue, Dublin on September 14 and 15.
Her call-up is the latest international recognition for Pavely who also plays for Central Sparks and has just returned from making eight appearances for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
She was part of the England side which reached the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup final in Potchefstroom, South Africa in 2023 before losing to India, appearing in six matches in the tournament.
Pavely then made her Under-19s ODI breakthrough this April against Australia and Sri Lanka.
The Redditch born player first appeared for the Rapids three years ago and played a key role in them winning two trophies in two years.
But her commitments with Sparks and Phoenix meant she was restricted to one appearance for the Rapids this summer against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in April.
Pavely said: “The Under-19 World Cup, and to get to the final, will always be special but to be awarded a full call-up by England is another proud moment for me.
“I will always be grateful for the part Worcestershire have played in my development as a player and hope I can do myself justice in Ireland if given an opportunity.”
Kate Cross will captain the side in Ireland with Jon Lewis the Head Coach.
Director of England Women’s Cricket, Jonathan Finch, said: “Following a busy period we are looking forward to finishing off our summer with the tour to Ireland.
“The squad has an exciting mix of experienced international players, those that are returning to a squad having played previously and those yet to take their first steps on the international stage.
“This is a strong squad made up of many players that have grown from being part of a strengthening domestic game.
“The growing complexity and challenges of managing year-round playing calendars for our international players presents an opportunity for those that have been pushing for selection to be challenged on the international stage.
“Ireland Women are coming off the back of a significant series win against Sri Lanka and this, mixed with playing away from home, will pose a significant challenge.

“It’s always a special moment to see players make their debut.”
